Private Residence Baranquilla

Baranquilla, Colombia

This tropical garden is located in Colombia’s port city of Barranquilla. Just like the architecture of the house, the garden- by Enea Garden Design - is defined by very clean modern, lines contrasting with the soft lush green and elegant textures of the selected plants. In a tropical climate like Barranquilla’s, where temperatures can go well over 40 °C, such relationship requires careful study to create a microclimate that would allow the family to really enjoy the outdoors. Several species of trees native to the region like Lignum vitae and Bulnesia arborea were used to give shade and privacy to the interior spaces. A green wall of over 100 square meters and a roof top terrace are also features of the overall design. The material pallet is kept in line with the modern house only using white marbles at the ground level, black tones at the roof and introducing wood pergolas at both levels. Enea used CL vessels in grey taupe, and A80 in dark red texture.
